The Position

As Account Manager Partnerships you will be on the Belgian roads a lot. Your focus will be on acquiring new partners and developing new channels for growth to ensure Sungevity meets its international growth ambitions. You take the lead in doing partner outreach, preparing business cases and presentations, negotiating and closing major partnership opportunities in Belgium (and sometimes the Netherlands). Besides this you are constantly doing market and competitive analysis, and setup and execute campaigns with partners.


In short the Account Manager Partnerships:

  • Is responsible for identifying potential strategic partnerships and reaches out to make them happen;

  • Focuses on partnership acquisition by targeting 150+ companies, building a strong network of relationships;

  • Develops new (partnership) concepts that drive growth;

  • Works with the Partnerships Team to revise and innovate on a corporate strategy for how to acquire and execute on future business development leads, analyzing our current industry tiers;

  • Ensures solid account management by continuously identifying and following up on partner needs.

Requirements

Are you the person we are looking for?

We are looking for somebody with a fundamental understanding of and excitement for the growing global solar photo-voltaic industry. Solar industry experience is preferred but not strictly necessary. Essential requirements include:

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills in both Flemish (native) and English. (+French is an advantage). You make the complicated look appealing;

  • You must be able to uncover and articulate the strategic synergy between two organizations to structure a winning partnership;

  • You are a proven team worker with at least 5 years of experience in marketing and business development;

  • You can develop and maintain new and existing client/partner/channel relationships;

  • You have the ability to research, analyse, and customise proposals for target organisations, including dissecting public filings and building business cases based on key metrics from that research;

  • You have great negotiation and influencing skills. Your profound understanding of our mission makes that you can translate it into convincing stories to colleagues, partners and target partners;

  • You are able to create and adapt business cases, proposals/bids, financial calculations and supporting models with (limited) support from the finance department;

  • You possess the ability to take a lead in presenting bids to key accounts;

  • You are comfortable operating in a “no drama” fast-paced, high growth scale up environment;

  • You are a current resident of Belgium or the Netherlands. You will spend most of your time on the Belgian roads visiting (potential) partners and are willing to work in our Amsterdam office approximately one day a week.
